Dante Alighieri Society of Denver to Celebrate 40 Years of Italian Culture with Gala at Balistreri Vineyards

Denver, CO —September 12, 2025 — The Dante Alighieri Society of Denver is proud to announce the celebration of its 40th Anniversary Gala, a milestone event honoring four decades of unwavering commitment to promoting the Italian language, culture, and heritage throughout the Denver metropolitan area. The gala will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Balistreri Vineyards (1946 E. 66th Ave., Denver, CO 80229).

Founded in 1985, the Denver chapter of the internationally renowned Società Dante Alighieri has grown into a vibrant cultural hub that unites people of all backgrounds with a shared passion for Italy’s rich legacy. Today, as one of more than 480 Dante Alighieri chapters worldwide, the Denver Society stands as a cornerstone of intercultural exchange in the Rocky Mountain region.

Denver, CO — June 20, 2025 — The Dante Alighieri Society of Denver is proud to announce the celebration of its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of unwavering commitment to promoting the Italian language, culture, and heritage throughout the Denver metropolitan area.

Founded in 1985, the Denver chapter of the internationally renowned Società Dante Alighieri has grown into a vibrant community hub that brings together individuals of all backgrounds with a shared passion for Italy's rich cultural legacy. As one of more than 480 Dante Alighieri chapters worldwide, the Denver Society has become a cornerstone of intercultural exchange in the Rocky Mountain region.

Gianfranco Marcantonio - April 11, 2024

To all Dante members, it is with deep sadness that we must report that dear friend and founding member of the Denver Dante Alighieri Society Gianfranco Marcantonio passed away last night (April 11, 2024). Gian held many positions in the Dante, including President and Vice President. In recent years he served as Historian and kept us informed monthly as editor of the Notizario.

We will all miss him.

During Women’s History Month in March, there were two festive occasions for Mother Cabrini’s induction into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame upon her nomination by the Dante Alighieri Society of Denver. On March 14, Board Members of the Society attended a VIP reception hosted by the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame. At a fabulous Gala on March 15 attended by more than 830 people, Board Member Suzanne Fasing accepted the award given to Mother Cabrini. Board President John Giardino and representatives from the Cabrini Shrine in Golden joined in the celebration. Mother Cabrini, who was an immigrant from Italy, worked tirelessly as a missionary nun for 28 years to assist immigrants, children, and the poor in Colorado, throughout the United States. and in many other countries, establishing 67 schools, orphanages, hospitals and social service agencies. Mother Cabrini’s recognition by the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame spreads her legacy to a wider audience.
