Dante Alighieri Society of Denver to Celebrate 40 Years of Italian Culture with Gala at Balistreri Vineyards
Denver, CO —September 12, 2025 — The Dante Alighieri Society of Denver is proud to announce the celebration of its 40th Anniversary Gala, a milestone event honoring four decades of unwavering commitment to promoting the Italian language, culture, and heritage throughout the Denver metropolitan area. The gala will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Balistreri Vineyards (1946 E. 66th Ave., Denver, CO 80229).
Founded in 1985, the Denver chapter of the internationally renowned Società Dante Alighieri has grown into a vibrant cultural hub that unites people of all backgrounds with a shared passion for Italy’s rich legacy. Today, as one of more than 480 Dante Alighieri chapters worldwide, the Denver Society stands as a cornerstone of intercultural exchange in the Rocky Mountain region.
“For 40 years, our mission has been to build community through the love of Italian language, history, food, art, and music,” said John Giardino, President of the Dante Alighieri Society of Denver. “This milestone reflects the dedication of our volunteers, the enthusiasm of our members, and the enduring appeal of Italian culture.”
The Gala Experience
Guests will be treated to:
- A four-course Italian buffet paired with Balistreri’s award-winning wines
- Non-alcoholic beverages available for all guests
- Live music by Mark Giarratano and the Four Amicis, featuring Sal Martarano on Sax and Mark Hooper on Keyboard
- A special program sharing the story of DAS and honoring the founders and leaders who built this vibrant community

Over the past four decades, the Society has enriched thousands of lives through Italian language classes, awarded more than $400,000 in scholarships for study in Italy, hosted countless cultural events, and honored local champions of Italian heritage with its prestigious Donna di Merito Award. The gala will pay tribute not only to these accomplishments but also to the individuals who made them possible.
This celebration is open to all who love Italy—members, friends of Italian organizations, and Italophiles throughout the community. Distinguished guests, including the Italian Consul General, local officials, and community leaders, are expected to attend.
