Italian B2 – Advanced Communication and Exam Preparation
New 2-month Special Intensive Italian Course in preparation for the B2 Competency Certification.
This course is designed for learners who have successfully passed (or are preparing for) the B1 Italian exam and are ready to advance to the B2 level. One hour meetings are held twice a
week, supplemented by guided self tasks and practice outside class-study.
The course emphasizes the four core skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking – and trains participants in the task types found in official B2-level certification exams
(such as the CILS DUE or CELI 30: comprehension of spoken and written texts, analysis of language structures, production of detailed and coherent essays, and fluently interacting in
monologue and dialogue form.
Through authentic materials – such as newspapers and magazine articles, audiovisuals, and cultural texts – students engage with a broad range of topics, including current affairs,
societal issues, culture, and everyday professional-academic contexts. Students will develop advanced grammar and vocabulary (including for abstract and specialized topics), enhance
their ability to argue and justify viewpoints (expressing advantages/disadvantages, cause-andeffect, hypothesizing) and refine their accuracy and fluency in spontaneous communications.
By the end of the course, participants will be well-prepared both to communicate effectively with native speakers in general and formal contexts, and to sit the official B2 certification
exam, thus paving the way to C1-level studies or professional use of Italian.
